Win A Bag of Homemade Dog Treats

By Michele C. Hollow of Pet News and Views

Two readers can win a bag of these yummy looking treats for their dogs.

If you still haven’t purchased a holiday gift for your dog—or if you have and want another one—check out Treat Me Right, a human-grade gourmet dog treat manufacturer.

“Treat Me Right looks to partner with animal welfare organizations that are providing positive changes for animals and people alike,” says Kristin Southard, owner of Treat Me Right.  “When we read about PAWS NY we knew immediately that we’d like to work with them on a fundraising campaign as we love their mission of providing pet services to people with terminal illness, physical limitations due to disability and age, or other crises so that they will be able to keep their pets with them during what are already exceptionally difficult times.”

Treat Me Right designed a unique, human-grade, gourmet dog treat made specifically for PAWS NY that will only be available until Dec. 20th.  For EVERY BAG of treats that is ordered, regardless of where the customers are from, PAWS NY will receive $3.  This is over 25 percent of its proceeds. PAWS NY has set a goal of $1,000 and plans to use the proceeds to expand their cornerstone “Housecall Program” by training additional volunteers in order to expand their outreach.

Treat Me Right was designed from the start to be a pay it forward business.  “We want everyone—the customer who buys the treats, the dogs that receive them, the non-profits that receive much needed funding and exposure for their cause, and the animals that will be rescued,  or in the case of PAWS NY,  the ability to remain in their forever homes, to derive something positive from their contact with our business,” says Kristin.

Treat Me Right is giving away 2 gift bags of its gourmet dog cookies to two Pet News and Views’ readers. To enter, leave a comment telling us why your dog or your friend’s dog deserves a special treat.  I will place all of the names in Random.com, and pick a winner. The contest runs from now through Friday, December 14 at 3 p.m. eastern.

What pretty cookies, and I love your blog, Michele! I will have to check out Treat Me Right and PAWS NY. I looked up the article on your site about them, and they are a great organization–much needed.

  • Darbie

We have 3 dogs, horses, and 4 cats on our farm, and our dogs would love these.

  • Sabine

I checked out the ingredients and prices on Treat Me Right’s site. All of the ingredients are good for your dogs, you can pronounce the ingredients–nothing foreign or harmful–, and the price is amazing for what you get. These are big cookies and they are just $10.99. Great holiday gift for your neighbor with the dog!

  • Mary

I also looked at their site, and they have these incredible looking truffles. Glad you found them.

  • Darrell

I have a dog that would gobble these up. I see they are big, and they even discuss portion control on their website. It’s a cool looking website. And because these cookies are so big, you can break them and give your dog 3-4 pieces from one cookie. And the price is great.

I would like to win a bag for my dog, Frieda. She is a rescue and I adore her.

My puppy-mill survivor Pug deserves lots of treats! I am so proud of her. She has been here 3 months and has improved so much. She is just learning how to play with toys and her nightmares have finally ended. She is learning how to be a happy dog. I caught her twice wagging her tail,,,hopefully she will do more wagging!

  • catherine turley

i need to win because i’m going broke buying treats for all of my neighbors’ dogs ;)

  • sounds like a great business. If I win, Ruby will be ecstatic and we will share with doggie friends. My older kidney dog is on more of a restricted diet but he will get to try little pieces too!

  • Rhonda

  • Keira

My rescue is so happy and content. This would make a great Christmas present for him.

  • Lara

We have cats, but I started volunteering at my local shelter. I walk dogs and these cookies would be a welcome treat for the dogs.

  • Geri

My black lab would love these.

  • Caliope

I have a rescue lab/rottie mix. He is such a great dog, and he would enjoy these healthy treats.

  • Shadie Kaye's Mom

My babygirl, a Lab/Chow X, is 12 years old. Although still healthy I am very careful about what I feed her. These treats/cookies being human grade sounds to be just the ticket to show her love and keep her fit! ^..^ *woof*

  • Kathy

Oh these are so pretty. My little girl, a yorkie named Mitzy, would love these.

  • Cori

I want to win a bag for my dog, Dollie. She is a rescue, and oh so sweet.

  • Aliza

My little Gizmo would love these! He is a loving rescue long-haired chihuahua/papillon from Furry Friends Refuge in West Des Moines, IA.

  • My foster service dog Mette works soooo hard in training that she deserves a special treat. Just the other day she alerted her trainer that the fellow who was cleaning the kennels was having a diabetic reaction (his blood sugar was at 230!!). She is going to graduate March 2nd and we only have her another month. Please help us treat her as she deserves to be treated—like a HERO!!!

  • Elizabeth Schipper

I bought about 9 of the treat boxes for my dog and her puppy pals because they’re all so sweet and need a treat after playtime!

  • Dianne

My dogs deserve a special treat because they are The Best Rescued/Adopted Dogs in the World ;-)

  • My dog, Riley, probably doesn’t deserve them (if Santa’s judging) because he is ornery…but he tries to be good. Our other dog, Daisy, really deserves them because we just had an ultrasound done on her yesterday, and while we get the “official” results tomorrow, the vet thinks she has some tumors. She’s 13 and is such a great girl. I’m trying to think optimistically, but I keep tearing up. She’s a really good girl and deserves the whole world…and she would share with Riley, no matter what bad stuff he’s done :)

  • Susan

My treats are in the fridge waiting for Christmas day. They looks so good I want to eat them. Hope I win!

  • Sadie

My pup is a HUGE fan of Treat Me Right. He became a big brother when I gave birth to my son earlier this year, and while he’s still spoiled (e.g. sleeps between me and his daddy), a little extra love in the form of a Treat Me Right treat definitely wouldn’t hurt!

  • gisele

I’d love these for my rescue Belle, who’s the one that really did the rescuing! she’s my baby girl :)

  • Judy Saunders

I would love to win these treats for my Cairn Terrier Olivia. She has been by my side during 2 bouts of cancer and I don’t know what I would have done without her by my side.

  • Christine Aiello

My dog would love to win these treats! It is hard for me to buy treats for her because she has so many allergies so she would love to win homemade treats!

  • Sher

My 8 year old labradoodle ‘Dudie’ loves to do tricks for a treat – he could do so many more tricks if he won a bag of Treat Me Right cookies. We really appreciate all the GOOD that Treat Me Right is doing, and will continue to do. Thank you for all your hard work!
