Fundraising and Sponsorship Tips for Animal Welfare Groups

By Michele C. Hollow of Pet News and Views

As expected BlogPaws was wonderful. It’s so nice to be surrounded by like minded animal lovers. Most are working hard to make this world a better place for pets, wildlife, and people.

I basically went to attend the Helen Woodward Animal Center’s ACES (Animal Center Education Services) program. It is a free program that teaches animal welfare workers how to run an animal shelter, or as Mike Arms, head of the Helen Woodward Animal Center, would say, “please replace the word shelter with center.” Click here to see what I’m referring to.

Following is a video of Mike talking about Fundraising Tips and Events and Sponsorships. With him on the left is Krissie Newman of the Ryan Newman Foundation and Angela Morris of P&G Pet Care. The workshop I attended was a shortened version designed for the bloggers who attended BlogPaws. The actual ACES program is run over the course of four days.

I will post two other short videos this week. One is on Community Education Tips from Krissie Newman of the Ryan Newman Foundation and the other is on Fostering and Pure Bred Rescue Tips from Angela Morris of P&G Pet Care.

And I’m sorry to say that Pet News and Views did not win the Pettie award for Best Pet Blog. Kudos to the winners and to all who made the cut!
