Fred Willard Talks about Animal Rights

By Michele C. Hollow of Pet News and Views

After listening to high praise about people who are working on behalf of animals, Fred Willard, comedian and actor said, “And I thought I was good for staying up late so the cat can come in.”

Actor Fred Willard

Fred was part of Farm Sanctuary’s star-studded 25th anniversary gala. He has done a lot more than stay up late so his rescued cat can come home. He volunteers his time at Actors and Others for Animals, PETA, Farm Sanctuary, and other organizations. His messages are humane treatment of animals, the importance of spay/neuter, and shelter adoptions. Fred believes it’s “just plain silly to buy when there are hundreds of dogs and cats available for adoption at animal shelters.”

Fred has appeared in numerous films and on television. My favorite roles are watching him in Christopher Guest films such as “This is Spinal Tap,” “Best in Show,” and “A Mighty Wind.”

Here is a clip of Fred in “A Mighty Wind.”

Here is a video of Fred on the importance of pet adoption.
