Pet News and Views Contest

One of the fun sides of blogging is getting products. Occasionally, I am sent two sets of goods—one for me to try and one for me to give away to one of you. I’m hosting a contest for subscribers of Pet News and Views starting today.

If you already subscribe, your name is in the pot. If you aren’t getting Pet News and Views in your e-mail or RSS feed, I hope you will subscribe. I have 8 prizes to give away to 8 subscribers of Pet News and Views. Here is a list of the goodies:


For the Dogs
Bamboo Care Pet Shower Massager easily connects to a shower head, spigot, or hose. I remember bathing my dogs when I was a kid. It was tough going at times. Since this is handheld, it makes bathing your dog quite manageable. It retails for about $25. My neighbor uses one on her dog, and she finds it easy to use, and more importantly, her dog loves it.

The company is called Fat Cat, and I know them from their catnip stuffed toys. I was sent two Squeak-A-Zoids stuffing-free dog toys. One is in the shape of a rabbit and the other is a beaver. For Cats and Dogs
I got my hands on two FURminators. I love this de-shedding tool, and Earl Gray, my cat loves it too. He purrs when I brush him with it. Both FURminators are from the Deluxe collection. One is for cats and the other is for medium sized dogs and cats. Each retails for $44.99.


For Cats
Are your cat’s claws sharp? Bamboo Care has come out with Perfect Paws Cat Nail Trimmer. It’s easy and safe to use on your kitty. It also comes with batteries and an extra filing stone. It retails for $20.


Earl loves his Scratch ‘n Shapes scratching post from Imperial Cat. I love the shape. It’s like a sleigh bed. I place it next to the sofa, sprinkle on the organic catnip that it comes with, and he avoids scratching the sofa. Sofas are big ticket items, and I’ve had to replace a few thanks to the cats in my life. They all have attacked the arms of my sofas. My husband, Steven, is an expert at reupholstering them. Now, we just place the Scratch ‘n Shapes next to the sofa, and voila, he uses it—not the sofa! We are happy! I saw this on sale at Target for $16.


For your Traveling Pets

1. The contest starts July 26, 2010 (yes, today!) and ends on August 3, 2010 at 11:59 EST. There are 8 prizes and 8 winners. All you have to do is subscribe to Pet News and Views via e-mail or RSS feed. Just click on the subscribe app near the top right hand side of the screen.

2. All contest entries will be assigned a number, and the winning number will be picked by www.randomizer.org.

3. The winners have 3 days to claim their prize. If the prize is not claimed by the winner within 3 days, an alternate winner will be chosen from the pool of entries.
